A man who was hit by a taxi last weekend has died as a result of serious head injuries.

James William Green, 34, of Roath, was involved in the collision on Newport Road, Cardiff, at 2am on Saturday.

The incident took place 150 yards north of the junction with Wordsworth Avenue.

A family statement said Mr Green was 'dearly loved'.

'He will be remembered for his personality and smile. The family and friends are devastated and heartbroken by this tragic incident.'
