PARTY-GOERS will be able to see the new year in and feel assured they will get home safely.

Dartford Council's Grabbacab service will be running on New Year's Eve, despite it falling on a Sunday.

The scheme, which started in October, operates on Friday and Saturday nights between 11.30pm and 3.30am.

Town centre visitors can get private hire cars or hackney carriages in Market Street, Dartford.

Deputy council leader Councillor Tony Martin said: "Grabbacab is perfect for New Year's Eve because it's a no-nonsense scheme to get people home quickly, easily and safely after a night out."
