Gore Mutual Insurance Company offers over 50,000 free taxi rides this New Year's Eve
Gore Mutual Insurance Company is offering over
50,000 of their auto policyholders a free taxi ride New Years Eve.
"Community and road safety is a shared responsibility, and the Taxi offer
program is an excellent safety initiative aimed at reducing impaired driving
as well making our roadways the safest in North America. We are very proud to
work in partnership with the staff at Gore Mutual to make this New Year's Eve
a safe ride," said Chief Larry Gravill, Waterloo Regional Police Service.
Barry Kennedy, Senior Vice President, Gore Mutual, commented that the
public reaction is "overwhelming and very positive". As a safety conscience
company, Gore Mutual has been offering this program for many years and has
enjoyed the fact that they are trying to make a difference by making our roads
safer.
"We are very proud of our New Year's Eve taxi offer", says Gore Mutual's
President and CEO, Kevin McNeil. "We believe this is a responsible initiative
for an auto insurance company. It makes Ontario communities a little safer on
New Year's Eve!"
Gore Mutual auto policyholders received a letter and voucher for their
taxi ride - up to a maximum of $15.00 - just before Christmas.
Gore Mutual, established in 1839, is Canada's oldest continually
operating property and casualty insurance company. The taxi offer is just one
of the many ways Gore Mutual shows gratitude to their policyholders and the
communities in which they live.
