Teenager is attacked by taxi con sex beast.

A SEX beast raped a teenager after he conned her in to helping him hail a taxi.

The 17-year-old agreed to help him after he told her no taxis would stop because he was on his own.

But he dragged her into church grounds and raped her.

Police yesterday warned women in the popular student area of Edinburgh where the attack happened not to walk alone after nights out.

They appealed for witnesses to help find the beast before he struck again.

The teenager was walking in Nicolson Street just before 3am on Sunday when the man spoke to her.

After he told her about his problems getting a cab, they began to walk along the road together.
As the girl tried to hail a taxi while they passed Buccleuch and Greyfriars Church, the rapist lifted her and forced her down Quarry Close into the church grounds.
As she battled to escape, the beast raped her but she managed to break free and run for help.
Detective Inspector Jim Cassidy said fellow revellers seeing the man lift the girl may have thought they were witnessing "high jinks".
The suspect was blond, in his mid-20s and wearing a blue shirt and trousers. He had a local accent.

DI Cassidy said: "We are also studying the CCTV from the area.

"It was very busy and we would ask anyone who was there to contactus. Residents in the area may also have heard something.

"We would be keen to speak to any taxi drivers who may have picked up a single male at this time or who saw the victim trying to stop them."
