Police are trying to trace a stolen registered private hire car which operated in the North Somerset area.

The car, a red Ford Mondeo, has private hire plates attached and was stolen along with the owner's private hire identity card.

Police are appealing for anyone who knows the whereabouts of the car, which has the registration RA03 CRU and the private plate number 438, to get in contact with police.

Officers across the force are actively seeking the vehicle.

Police are also reminding people to take the necessary precautions when using taxis and always try and book a taxi in advance.
