RTA’s taxi reservation service attracts more calls in October
DUBAI — The latest statistics of the Public Transport Agency at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) show that the Reservation and Distribution Section received 245,358 phone calls in October as compared to 226,876 calls in September.
The number of executed reservations for taxis reached to 142,357 compared with 139,873 in September and an average of 15 seconds was recorded to reply to incoming calls.
Ammar bin Tamim, Director of Dubai Taxi Department at the Public Transport Agency, said, “The total number of taxi reservations made via the IVR System reached 41,793 while the waiting time of taxis reached 14 minutes.”
The number of passengers using Dubai taxis from Dubai Airport reached 222,908 passengers last month who were transferred through 122,647 trips registering an increment of 10 per cent.
The total number of vehicles at the airport increased from 233 to 250 vehicles out of which 163 were wagon vehicles, 39 family vans, 46 cars and two vehicles for special needs.
The number of drivers in this section reached to 516 drivers who included 30 women.
