Taxi driver abducted
POLICE seeking witnesses to the abduction and robbery of a taxi driver in Glasgow over the weekend believe there may be a Cumbernauld link to the crime.
The 37-year-old victim was waiting at the taxi rank at Queen Street Station at 5.30am when two men got in and threatened him with a knife.
He was forced to drive to the Springburn area then out towards Cumbernauld where he was assaulted by the men and placed in the rear of the vehicle.
After a struggle he managed to get out of the car at the Stepps roundabout and made his way to a nearby hotel where police were called. The vehicle, which is a silver coloured Toyota Avensis, was driven away by the abductors.
Police have issued a despcription of the pair - and ask anyone who thinks they might recognise them to get in touch immediately.
