No suspects in robbing, beating of taxi driver
FRUITLAND — Police are looking for two men they believed assaulted a Bailey’s Taxi Cab driver early this morning near Cartwright Avenue.
Fruitland police said officers were sent to the 400 block of Cartwright Avenue at about 4:26 a.m. for the report of a taxi cab driver being robbed a gunpoint.
Police said that two late teen black males entered the cab for a ride to West Road and then attacked the 64-year-old Robert Wilson, demanding his money and wallet. The driver handed over his money but fought to keep his wallet.
The two men fled on foot after the attack, police said.
Wilson — who was struck several times with a pistol — was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Anyone with information about the case should call the Fruitland Police Department at 410-548-2804 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.
