A court order was required to release the images taken by a camera in Jagjit Bhatti’s cab Oct. 23, as police believed the two young men seen robbing Bhatti were 17 years old.

Two young men flagged down Bhatti’s cab in the Neilson Rd. and Sheppard Ave. E. area before one drew a gun and threatened to kill him while the other brandished a knife, the 58-year-old married father told the Star last week.

After taking $33, mostly in collector’s coins that Bhatti kept in his glove compartment, the two fled on foot, he said.

Not far from where Bhatti was flagged down, police arrested 20-year-old Desroy Williams and a youth who can’t be named on John Tabor Trl. Monday morning.

According to police, the pair was wanted for at least two taxicab robberies, though details of the other robbery haven’t been released.

Williams faces numerous charges, including attempted murder, robbery, assault with a weapon and credit card fraud, police said. The youth faces three counts of robbery, using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence and a dangerous weapons charge.
