Cabbie punched and robbed
The assault and robbery of a cab driver in the city’s southwest Monday (June 9), has London police searching for a lone male suspect.
The incident occurred at around 11 p.m., when the 27-year-old cab driver was approached by the male suspect in a parking lot at Notre Dame Drive and Viscount Road.
Police said the suspect enquired about a ride, hopped in the cab then punched the driver in the face, stealing money in the process.
The suspect fled on foot and the cab driver suffered non life-threatening injuries, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 6′ tall, 180 lbs., long black hair, goatee, wearing brown cargo shorts and a black and white striped golf shirt.
