Tempe bank robber escapes in taxi cab
Tempe police and the FBI are searching for a bank robber after he allegedly walked into a Bank of America, claimed he had a gun and demanded money.
The man walked into the bank located at Mill Avenue and University Drive on Monday and made off with cash.
"He left the area, witnesses said, in a taxi cab, so there is quite an investigation going on," said Tempe police sergeant Cindy Davies.
No one was hurt.
"The suspect is described as a black male, mid-to-late 30s, about 5′9", 190 pounds, lean build, wearing a dark blue T-shirt, blue jeans and a ball cap," said Davies.
Anyone with information is asked to call Tempe police.
