NSW taxi fares to rise by six per cent
NSW taxi fares will go up by six per cent later this month.
The NSW Taxi Council said the transport department has accepted the state price regulator's recommendation of a six per cent hike in cab fares.
Taxi council CEO Howard Harrison said the increase will take effect from August 27.
It will mean a rise of $1.03 for an average urban journey of seven kilometres, and 67 cents for average country journey of three kilometers.
"This adjustment reflects the increases in costs for drivers and operators over the last 12 months," Mr Harrison said in a statement.
